The old tradition on the country to hold the harvest is represented on this woman, when no high-tech machinery was created. She is holding three pumpkins, one on each arm and the third one on her head. This is solid copper sculpture. Made by the coppersmiths from Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico. The patina is greenish and protect the sculpture from corrosion. The neck and face are brown emulating the skin exposed to the sun in the harvest. The woman is a little bit fat, making this sculpture very heavy. It is made of a single piece of copper. Hammering the red-hot copper is an ancient technique the coppersmiths use, where no sophisticated tools are used, just the furnace to heat the copper and a hammer to give it the shape. No further copper polishing or maintenance required.
