This vase has a clear patina that help to preserve the copper, no copper polishing or special cleaning is required, just a wet cloth. This vase was made from one sheet of copper, raised with the artist hammer, there are no one welded joints. Hammering the red-hot copper is an ancient technique the coppersmiths use, where no sophisticated tools are used, just the furnace to heat the copper and a hammer to give it the shape. The vase body resembles a pumpkin with ten pronges. It was made of a heavy gauge copper sheet, you can appreciate that on the upper view picture. We got this vase from the skilled coppersmiths from Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico. A unique gift for your loved ones or for yourself. The hammer footprint is very visible. The reddish/oxidated texture is characteristic of natural copper when it is cooled down from red-hot temperature using cold water, technique that the coppersmiths use. This is a big copper vase, take a look to its dimensions. Suitable for your coffe table or near your fireplace.
