This round hammered copper bathroom sink is handmade by the skilled coppersmiths of Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico. It is shaped by hand from a single sheet of copper, so there are no welded joints. Because the copper is raised by hand, its thickness varies across the bowl: about 0.152" at the upper edge, gauge 8 (0.12") in the middle, and gauge 15 (0.056") at the bottom, which makes it a very heavy, solid piece. Following an ancient technique, the artisans heat the copper red-hot in a furnace and shape it with a hammer, leaving the hammer marks clearly visible on the surface. The copper is then cooled in cold water, which gives it a natural reddish, oxidized texture, and it is finished in a dark brown tone. The sink has a standard 1.5" drain opening and no overflow, and it is designed for above-counter mounting. Its deep, classic bowl shape brings warm, rustic character to any bathroom.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Toothpaste left on the surface for long periods can wear away the patina more quickly, so we recommend rinsing the sink after brushing your teeth.
