This is a solid piece of clay, sold raw. However a layer of sealer is recommended before installation. This Saltillo tile can be used in different flooring patterns. As shown in one of the pictures, Talavera tile can also be intermixed to create beautiful patterns too. Each tile covers about 40 sq in, if 1/2" grout is used, about 48 sq in are covered. 3 pieces are needed to cover 1 sf. Because of its geometry, this Saltillo clay tile can be combined with squares to give more sophisticated patterns as shown in the third picture.
